Decpticon Engagement Ring.. aka are you trying to tell me something?

Still pretty awesome tho!

The setting of this ring was custom made for a customer using our 3Design CAD CAM software and cast in 14k white gold.
If you ask me, she should take a REAL good look at the fiance! You don't wanna get stuck changing oil diapers later on...

Cute Way to Decorate GersonCurse Labels!

This makes me so happy!

After getting back from a lovely honeymoon, Kevin sent over a photo of their wedding favors! (yes, that is beetroot chutney, no I haven't tried it...). But what a cute idea to add tags! I think it adds the right amount of pizzaz to their already amazing "Winter Country" wedding!.

Thanks for sharing Kevin & Natalie!

Amelie Styled Wedding!

Amélie, a whimsical movie directed by the hugely talented Jean-Pierre Jeunet, is all about finding true love in the magical land of Paris! So how wonderfully clever to design a Amélie inspired wedding!

Kudos as this is probably as close to living IN Amélie as you can get!

A Wild GersonCurse Label Appears!

My labels have never looked so GORGEOUS!!!
LUSH! FANTASTIC! ALLURING!

A while back I designed custom Strawberry Jam Labels for the wedding of Rob & Hayley - who, btw, have really similar designs tastes to our wedding - like Pies not Wedding Cake! Swoon!

And when I stumbled upon their photographs, I honestly squeeled. Like outloud.
As in "OMG THOSE ARE MY LABELS!!!!"

On top of that, they were taken by the super talented  J.Grace Photography! (They're local to Baltimore..or DC really..heck, Baltimore is really just a suburb of DC anyways....).

So thanks Jessica for taking such amazing pictures and allowing me to post them!
And if you have a wedding coming up, totally check out their portfolio!
And if you want your own labels, here's my Etsy shop! (but you knew that already... :))

GersonCurse Labels Appear in Illinois Wedding!

And I couldn't be more proud!!!

Stacy, the wonderful creative brains behind Oliveloaf Design, contacted me a while back on Etsy to create custom labels for her wedding favors. This lucky newlywed's Mother-in-Law not only made homemade Strawberry Rhubarb, but homemade Apple Butter too... so two distinct "Spread the Love" favors greeted the guests!

I'm so proud she chose my labels to be a part of her dynamo shindig!
Congrats again on your wedding Stacy! (and thanks for sharing these amazing photos!)

P.S. Ribbon/Medal of Honor Corsages? Genius!

Wedding DIY! Mossy Initials!

We're coming down to the end (only a couple more DIY to go!).
DIY #1: Moss Initials!

These were SO incredibly easy to do. No joke!

You need:

1 paper mache letter! Premade!
1 pkg of moss that's already on a sheet! (I used 2 pks for my letters).
1 bottle of elmers glue (do I really need to link this??)

To do:
Ready for this? Cut and Glue!
No kidding. But beware it can make a totally MESS!
Final product:

And now that the wedding is over, I'm gonna use them for my Rapper Bling! BAM!

Yeah! Wha??? OKAY!!!!

DIY Wedding Ring Nests!

Remember in the last wedding post, where I said Micheal's shipped everything off? Yeah...it was for this post. So I apologize in advance!
DIY Ring Nest!

As a way to engage our guests, our officiants passed the ring nests to the audience at the beginning of the ceremony. Passing through each person's hands, we asked that they share well wishes! After the Maid of Honor and Best Man fetched them from the audience, they were super charged with good feelings!
And Making them was SUPER easy!
No, really!
1. Bought a nest/branch set from Micheal's:

2. Filled the nest with Bag o'Moss!

3. Strung a pretty ribbon thru the center
4. Tie the ring in! Viola!
Told you, ridiculously easy!
(P.S. I was going to put these silly fake deer & pine trees in, but I was talked out of the tacky factor. Sigh).

P.S.S. And the extra branches make nice decor if you shove them into a vase!

Mushroom Wedding Madness!

More DIY wedding!
Yeah, so I slacked last week. I was gonna take pics of some stuff I used from Michael's, but the day I brought my camera, was the day they shipped everything off! Arg.

So let's talk more centerpieces, shall we?

Since the whole thing had an outdoorsy feel (duh), we need mushrooms. LOTS of mushrooms. And my super creative cous Ayse was willing to help! It might have had something to do with being SUPER preggers at the time and really, couldn't move much. Her loss, my gain!

Yes. She MADE those green adorable mushrooms!

Her steps:
1. Get some foamcore! You can buy at craft stores or if you order a lot of stuff from Best Buy, they'll ship you some for free! :)
2. Scuplt those suckers
3. Paint a base coat of green
4. Paint some green shading
5. Paint LOTS of green shading (she used 4 colors in all)
6. Seal it in with polyurethane!
7. Make about a billion, then you're DONE!

optional step 8: make a GIANT one for my garden!!!
THANKS AYSE!!!

Wedding DIY Programs! Pt. 2 (the outards)

So you remember Part 1, right? And I bet you are totally antsy for Part 2!!! Hmm...no matter, I do what I want!

Step 1: Get some fancy paper! I chose Martha Stewart's funness from Michael's. 5 designs in all! They had a great nature themed pack, but alas, I waited too long & they sold out. CURSES!

Step 2: Use the HUGE mass of sticks Mom collected, and break them down to a decent size.

Step 3: Get some twine (oh but first, go through every piece of yarn/twine/string that you possibly can, just to get the JUST right size and look. Then go back to your first choice.)

Step 4: BIND! I ended up punching 2 holes (top & bottom) then looping the twine through and tying the sticks to the outside. Inside looked like this. And of course, plus booze made it go faster.

Step 5: Get a pretty basket and filler up!

P.S. Pictures all swiped from our post on the Labor of Love blog (Really, I heartily suggest them. Awesome awesome people!!!)

Mulletgod is a Photoshop Action Angel!

So, I'm slightly obsessed with Photoshop filters right now (i.e. see Flickr widget to the right). I can't help it! I've got ta fancy up the world!

Right now I'm doing the happy dance.
Why? I found: Mulletgod's FREE Photoshop Actions!
Best part: DOWNLOAD FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

He's got a whole Flickr Group here.
And before and after's here!

P.S. There's also the totally punk rock Totally
Rad Actions! (oh yeah, Photoshop Actions named: Dirty Bird and Dirty Diana), they have a whole "Recipe" section that shows how they did those Before and Afters!(P.S. if you're not in the "know", here's a techy explanation for Actions)

Wedding DIY Programs! Pt. 1 (the innards)

Ahh..the art of a good program. After awhile, you start to realize how many DIY things you do for your wedding, and think OH MY GOD AM I CRAZY??? The answer: YES. But everyone loves a good detail, and a stressed out bride. JOY!

Step 1: Use wedding invitation design to create a "look"

Inside Program Design!

Step 2: Get Mom to write "Ceremony" section. (There were a lot of different religions floating around, so we figured we'd explain things to get everyone on the right page. Mom's idea!)

Step 3: Remember to spell names right.

Step 4: Scan in fun stuff for kids!!!! (the back page had things like "The Feet You Meet" pawprints and "Know your Smoke Signals"). I'm pretty sure no one saw these. But I bought the cards here! (and if I find the files, I'll upload to share!)
P.S. The pic above was swiped from our post on the Labor of Love blog (Really, I heartily suggest them. Awesome awesome people!!!)

(Part 2 is binding & paper fun!)

Guestbook? What Wedding Guestbook?

Oh! You mean the fantastic Postcard Guestbook? Where everyone drew pics and teeny comments? Why didn't you say so!!!

Being the formidable unique person that I am, I loathe the normal guestbook... one line and a signature to tell you I'm there? Why! I have so much to say!!???

Considering I have loads of creative friends, I was like: MAKE ME SOME HAPPY PICTURES PEOPLE! And then send them to me in the mail. There is nothing better than getting your wedding guestbook IN THE MAIL!

First Step: Make the Postcards! After getting a nifty Postcard stamp from Etsy, I went a little stamp happy and stamped like a BILLION cardstock sheets:

Second: Colors! Need tons of colors! I found these perfectly awesome color pencils at some craft store. Wooden & pretty... perfect! (and the jar was a left over from the Jam Jars. Holla!)
The Final product!: Um...yeah. So in the color frenzy, I forgot to add our address. SO the Fabulous Guestbook "IN THE MAIL" came to us "FROM MY MOM"! Worked out good in the end!So easy to do, and people LOVED it! Yippee!

P.S. Pictures all swiped from our post on the Labor of Love blog (Really, I heartily suggest them. Awesome awesome people!!!)
