Poop Coffee at Zeke's this Weekend!

By now you've probably heard of Kopie Luwak-civet coffee... the MOST EXPENSIVE COFFEE IN THE WOLRD! No? You mean you haven't heard of the Monkey poop it comes from?

I kid you not.

Let me tell you a little story of the Asian Palm Civet (the monkey culprit above). This scavenger scours the jungle eating the sweet red coffee beans he finds....then, yep! Poops out the undigested coffee beans!  Then some entrepreneurial genius gathers the poop, cleans it (tho never enough for my tastes),  grinds the digested coffee beans and charges outrageous amounts for it! Joy!

Boing Boing describes it best:
humans discovered that the enzymes in the civets’ tummies break down the coffee’s bitterness, leaving behind an extremely delicious pooped bean.
I tell you all this because Zeke's, the best coffee in the known universe, is having a Tasting Event for Kopi Luwak this weekend!

I may need someone to come with to hold my hand...

And because I may have inadvertently destroyed your appetite, here's a cute kitty in a coffee cup as an apology:

The Joys of Sugar Induced Super Hyperactivity... and Mean Mommies!!!!

New favorite site EVER.EVVVEEEERRRRRRR.

Becca sent this over with the caveat "Maybe you shouldn't be reading this in class. Last time I read this I was laughing so hard I thought I was dying". (Complete paraphrasing and embellishment for exaggeration's sake - I would NEVER read blogs in class... nor would Becca die laughing).

But she was right! OH DARN WAS SHE RIGHT!
The chick that writes Hyperbole and a Half takes her childhood memories, ramps them up on crack, draws funny little doodles and basically BLOWS MY MIND!!!!

The best reading so far has been The God of Cake (doodles above). All Allie wants is a tiny sliver of her grandpa's cake... then UNLEASHES THE FURY!

Iron Man Diorama: The First Step!

I’m gearing up for the next Diorama installment: Iron Man!
This time tho, it's in comic book fashion, with word bubbles and panels! Fancy, I know!

So where exactly do things begin?
With Storyboards of course!
Each panel is “PAINSTAKINGLY” scribbled out on paper. (Painstakingly is in caps cause, well, I’ve got self-proclaimed A.D.D., so an hour is a WHOLE lotta time to me!). Although you MAY be able to see a whip of some sort, I’m not gonna tell what’s going on in each panel... it’s gonna be a big surprise!

Look for more Iron Man goodness coming your way!

Drunk History!

Best FREAKIN Idea EVER!! EVVVVVVVERRR:

Get a history buff to get WASTED and retell an historical event.
THEN! Get a bunch of awesome actors to portray those same events...completely narrated by said drunkard!

The flick above is the retelling of Ben Franklin, played by Jack Black, getting it on with his neighbors fiance. If only history class was like this, I might have paid more attention!

Funny or Die Drunk History consider yourselves DVR'd!

Augmented Reality Tattoo! (Animate boring flash art!)

The brainiacs over at ThinkAnApp have really created a digital doozy!

In a nutshell: When viewed through a camera, the barcode (tattooed above) is read as augmented reality! A.K.A. Super-Awesome-Fun Animation!

(The ThinkAnApp guys "developed the software to recognize the AR barcode on curved surfaces like the human body" making way for new tattoo art!)

Don't care for the LOTR Dragon?
How about a Robot & DJ?

David LaChapelle and Lady Gaga should make babies. Weird, amorphous, children to populate the world with imagination and surrealism!

The Daily Mail reports:
The shots feature in the super deluxe limited edition of her new album The Fame Monster ... Not only does it come with a booklet containing these amazing pictures, but giving fans a very unusual and very weird treat, she has also included a lock of her hair.
