Baltimore's best and only celebration of the delicious world of petite edibles, the annual Small Foods party, is Saturday, FEBRUARY 12th, 2011! Please bring your Small Foods offering with enough to share, and any beverages you wish to consume. Have fun experimenting in your tiny kitchens!

In addition to food samplings from you and your Baltimore friends, there's prizes! Like... The Golden Toothpick (mini-sized versions of real foods), Bright Idea (most creative) and Yummo! (deliciousness) Awards.

There is no need to sign up, just show up! We only ask for a very small suggested donation of two dollars, so that we can throw the band and the space some thank you money! A couple of helpful tips: 1. Make as many of your Small Food as possible. The more people get to try your entry, the more people will want you to win! 2. Judging will begin promptly at 9:30. No entries will be accepted after this point! Make sure to arrive early enough for folks to get a taste!

Bacon Bombs Away! Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!

Normally, our fam is not very competitive, but for some reason, every year we have a NO HOLDS BARRED Meat recipe rodeo! Something to make the kids cry and the parents gasp!
But how exactly do you top last year's coronary delight, Bacon wrapped Turducken??!!

With a Bacon Bomb of course!

 

Once suggested, we knew this was it! This amazing meat marvel is made by weaving bacon around piles and piles of meat. Then bake!

The fine gents at This is Freaking Ridiculous made this culinary masterpiece for their first annual Bacon Day (everyday should be bacon day).

They say:

I decided it was time for me to make my own bacon creation. I came up with the BA-K-47, a 1:1 scale AK-47 made out of bacon. It took a total of eight hours to create, a lot of bacon, and a blowtorch... oh yeah, and our good friend beer helped too.

I wonder what they did for the follow-up Dessert Storm? (heh, puntastic).

LONG LIVE BACON!!!

According to an internet video from Win Rosenfeld the Bacon Craze is over, he even claims it to be a hipster fad (how dare you!). I defy his logic along with the Los Angeles Times by professing my again undying love for pork products, especially bacon. Why are pigs so damn delicious? So is the Bacon craze really over? I sure hope not because the baconator is still on the menu as far as I know!
