Here in Bmore, on Sat Oct 31 10am-1pm...the Creative Alliance is holding a whole workshop on Mexican Sugar Skulls! Mmm...teeth...hurtie!
On Mexico’s Day of the Dead, the souls of departed ones are thought to be nearer than at any other time, and are welcomed with food, tequila, stories and candy. CA Resident Artist René Treviño presents a brief slide lecture and historical overview of the holiday, then invites you to join one of its sweetest traditions – casting and painting miniature skulls made of sugar! Leave with 3 beautiful skulls of different sizes, plus the resources to carry on the tradition yourself! What I wanna know is, who's coming with me!!??
Loopy, I followed your link, and it's sold out already! Shazbot. NMAI.si.edu has a special program...
