FYI: SOPA, NOPA!

PROTECT IP / SOPA Breaks The Internet from Fight for the Future on Vimeo.

Oh Government, you and your antiquated laws and greedy grasps for control.

Tomorrow, January 18th we will be joining Wikipedia and countless other sites in the global blackout to protest SOPA.

What is SOPA ( Stop Online Piracy Act )?

From Politico:
SOPA and PIPA are designed to crack down on websites based offshore that peddle illegal content  — think pirated Hollywood blockbusters and fake Viagra. No one disputes that that’s a worthy goal. The rub is whether it would give the government and copyright holders too much control over the Web.
This means the government and your IP hosts have the ability to cut off any site they see fit. Sure, the site is still out there, but your Internet Provider isn't going to let it go through their system...and you'll never see it. (Say goodbye to Pirate Bay!)

Sound like censorship to you?

Get involved: Fight the Future and tomorrow check out Wikipedia.
