Maryland has a Motto?

Huh. Apparently Maryland's Motto is "Manly Deeds, Womanly Words". Not exactly sure if I should take offense or not, but the cool artwork is part of Two Eyeballs State and Motto T-Shirt set from Emily Wick!

Here's the Artwork from her "The Fifty United States and Their Mottos" Fine Art Poster, which I think has fantastic colors.

And now that I look at it closer, I don't any state has a good motto... Except the South Dakota's "The People Rule Under God" who apparently stole it from Arkansas "The People Rule" and just threw in "Under God".
