Devorah Sperber - Threaded Works

After Picasso, 2006
Based on the portrait Gertude Stein, (1906) by Pablo Picasso
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

"After Picasso," 2006, by Devorah Sperber, takes crafting to a new level! Made out of 5,024 hanging spools of thread and a clear acrylic viewing sphere. Meant to explore repetition and the effects of digital technology on perception, scale, and subjective reality. I call it genius.
